Please note that rent is negotiable within reason. The number takes into account monthly rent, all utilities, and 'furnished' status, and is genuinely a fair price on a pretty awesome apartment. I need a roommate, though - I'll hear all reasonable offers!
I have more photos, but I'm struggling with uploading. I'd be glad to email them to you!
*No rodent or pest problem, and I don't want one! I treat crevices and windows fairly regularly, and keep the kitchen clean. I'm not a neat freak by any stretch, but I have NO mice, NO roaches, and NO bedbugs, and I plan to keep it that way!*
Beautiful 4th floor walkup at 125th and Broadway. Right by the 1 train, and within walking distance of countless restaurants, shops, and bars. This is an ideal location for college students in the Harlem area - Manhattan School of Music is 2.5 blocks south, Columbia is either an 8 block walk or one subway stop away, the two Seminary schools are just a few blocks south, and CCNY is just a 15 minute walk or one subway stop north. Also, being right by the 1, there's great access to any destinations to the south.
Your room comes equipped with a fairly generous open closet, a twin bed with a nice vintage wooden frame and even nicer 3-month-old mattress and boxspring from Ikea, as well as a removable foam mattress topper, a desk and storage area, and a large dresser. The windows are east-facing, so if you want morning sunlight you can have plenty of it. I also got a pretty heavy-duty curtain, though, so you can block that out if you want.
The apartment has extremely spacious living space. Most 2 br apartments you'll find will have one combined livingroom/dining room. This one features two large shared living area rooms - one set up as a living room with cable TV (and NHL Center Ice - up to 40 out-of-market games a week!), a convertible sofa/futon bed for guests, and a chair. This room has an 80 inch retractable projector screen and a projector with surround sound, as well as a small tv for when the cinematic experience isn't what you want. It is awesome.
The other room acts as the dining room and also holds my computer desk and piano, as my bedroom is actually the smaller of the two.
The kitchen comes fully stocked with cookware and dinnerware, has decent 'pantry' space, 4 burners and a gas oven, toaster, microwave, large refrigerator and freezer.
Nice hot water and good water pressure in the shower, with a brand new shower head. The toilet, uh, flushes well, I guess, and there's a fairly spacious in-mirror medicine cabinet above the sink.
As for me, I'm really easy to get along with. I'm in school right now and for the foreseeable future, I've got an internship downtown, I like music and watching hockey and going out on weekends. I have to be up fairly early for class, but I don't tend to go to bed too early. I'm not noisy tho, and have headphones, if you want to go to sleep. I think if you're not having ragers at 1am on weeknights, we'll be cool.
