Preferred room and roommate description
ABOUT ME:
I am a 26 year old, young professional male and have a pretty busy schedule in terms of work, meetings, and creating curriculum. I am an East Coast transplant and have really enjoyed my time in the Bay Area. When I am not focused on my work I usually keep active by going to the gym or on a leisurely bike ride. I want the apartment to be a friendly and inviting place to unwind in or have friends visit.
I am looking for a responsible individual (male or female) who can keep common areas clean and pay rent in a timely manner. No smoking and unfortunately no pets (I am allergic.) You would have the second bedroom with a walk-in closet, as well as your own bathroom. At the moment the common areas of the apartment are currently unfurnished, so if you have living room furniture then there is plenty of space. (if not then we can figure out what furniture to get.)
THE AREA:
Bay Area Connections!
The complex is located in a really convenient location in Emeryville. You have quick access to I-80 (Powell Street entrance so you can skip all that backup on I-80 towards SF,) Bus stops for local and transbay lines are on the corner or less then a block away. Free Emeryville Go-Round Shuttle stop on the corner that connects you to the shopping and cultural centers of the city as well as to the BART system via MacArthur Station. From here you can get anywhere from San Jose to Napa in around an hour.
Food!
There are several restaurants within a 2 minute walking distance from the complex. Subway and Starbucks are located within the building at street level. There is a small Mexican Restaurant, Cocina Poblana, across the street; and Rotten City Pizza is only a block away. The options available within a 5 minute drive are pretty extensive.
As far as Groceries go; the new Berkeley Bowl West (large organic grocery with a massive produce section) is only 2 blocks from the complex. You also have access to Trader Joes and Whole Foods via a short bike-ride/drive or Emeryville Go-Round shuttle. If none of those fit your fancy there is also a large Safeway about 5 minutes south on Hollis.
Activities!
If you are an active person there are several options available. You can always take advantage of the free fitness center and pool within the complex; but there is also the trails at the Berkeley Marina just north of here, and the amazing rock-climbing gym Berkeley Iron Works (just 2 blocks away!)
You also have easy access to the eclectic cultural events of Berkeley, San Francisco and Oakland; and there is always something new to explore.
The apartment is available to view M-F after 5pm PST, and anytime on the weekends.
