Preferred room and roommate description
A large bedroom is available in our new three bedroom and three bath townhouse. The bedroom is quite large (measuring 11' x 11'), and it has its own full bathroom. The townhouse was built only three years ago and features cherry hardwood floors, berber carpet in the bedrooms, a kitchen with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, a DUET washer and dryer, and private garage parking. The townhouse feels spacious as it has ten foot high ceilings, an open floor plan, and a balcony. It has large windows that let in a lot of sun and warmth, and there is a pleasant coastal breeze that keeps us comfortable.
If you are unfamiliar with the neighborhood, here's the rundown:
Public Market, which is a spot with multiple choices for tasty, international food, is a few minutes walk away. Berkeley Bowl, which is the best local & organic supermarket in my opinion, is now open at a new location within a few blocks from our place. There are many other places to eat in the neighborhood or within a short drive.
There is extremely good freeway and public transit access, which can deliver you to SF in approx. 10 minutes. We are very close to the I-80 Ashby interchange, which will drop you off in SF in no time, and the transbay bus arrives in downtown SF in about 15 minutes. We are also one block away from the FREE Emery-Go-Round shuttle that goes to MacArthur BART station, Bay Street (an open air shopping mall with numerous restaurants and a large movie theater complex), and the rest of Emeryville. A pedestrian and bike path also runs from within a block of our house to Bay Street and West Berkeley.
A few blocks away is Berkeley Iron Works, which is one of the best rock climbing gyms in the country. They have classes in yoga, cycling, cardio kick-boxing, capoeira, etc. In addition, they have a ton of cardio equipment & free weights & machines, and they have a sauna.
We are located in the three corners neighborhood, which brings together the corners of Emeryville, Berkeley, and Oakland.
About us:
Matt just turned 30, plays soccer, rock climbs, and loves to cook for himself, friends, and housemates. Matt works in real estate development. In the past, he's shared groceries with roommates, and they have cooked for each other as time and schedules allow.
Deon is 33, and he rock climbs and snowboards. He's a fan of the 49ers. Deon works in IT in Emeryville.
We are looking for a clean, respectful housemate that is interested in hanging out, but also has other interests.
The room will be available November 1st and rents for $850. A garaged parking space is also available for $75/month.
